The DJ Company is a wedding DJ, sound and lighting company based in Claremont, Cape Town. It was founded in 1998 by Warren, and is led today by Liam Pitcher, who took it over from him. We work as a team of vetted DJs, not a single performer, and match each DJ to the couple and the crowd. Weddings are our main focus; we also play corporate functions, birthdays and private events, hire out sound and lighting and run a DJ course.

Our Story
The DJ Company began in Cape Town in 1998, founded by Warren, its original owner. Liam Pitcher took the company over from Warren and has led it as CEO and Head DJ since, with his business partner and co-owner Adrian Fowler running production.
Since 1998 the company has played 4,000+ weddings and events at 850+ venues for 800,000+ guests, and grown from a Cape Town DJ service into a team of DJs, technicians and bookings staff with branches in Johannesburg and Pretoria.

We’ve built The DJ Company to raise the standard of wedding DJs by solving the biggest problem in the wedding & corporate events industry: inconsistency. Too many events are let down by DJs who don’t prepare, don’t read the room, or don’t understand how important the occasion truly is. That’s why every DJ we work with is carefully vetted, trained, and held to a strict professional standard built from years of real wedding DJ experience. It’s not just about playing music. Each wedding package comes with a DJ at one of three levels:
- Signature Knows wedding timelines and formalities inside out, with confident multi-genre mixing and crowd reading.
- Elite Advanced crowd reading for guests of every age, strong multi-genre mixing and confident with speeches, entrances and first dances.
- Master Extensive wedding and major-event experience, reading a crowd of every age and culture, and working closely with your planner and venue.
Where We Play
From our base in Claremont we play weddings and events within 600 km of Cape Town, across the Cape Winelands, the Overberg, the West Coast and the Garden Route. Our Johannesburg and Pretoria branches cover Gauteng. Travel to your venue is quoted separately.
