Hiring a DJ for a birthday or private party in Cape Town costs R14,000 to R24,999 on one of The DJ Company’s packages, and all three include sound and lighting. The Vibe Package is R14,000, The Celebration Package, our Most Popular Choice, is R17,999, and The Showstopper Package is R24,999. The higher you go, the more experienced the DJ and the bigger the setup, up to sound in several areas with The Showstopper Package. Travel comes as a separate quote, and a party that doesn’t fit a package is quoted to suit.

A party or event DJ from The DJ Company plays until 11PM on The Vibe Package and until midnight on The Celebration or Showstopper Package. If you’d like the dancing to carry on, overtime is charged at a minimum of 10% of the total package fee for every extra hour. Share your start and end times when you enquire, even as an estimate, and we’ll plan the night around them.

Yes. A DJ from The DJ Company takes your party from background music to a full dance floor, so the same DJ looks after the quieter start of your party and the dancing later on. On our Event Music Request Form you choose the background style, from light jazz to acoustic guitar, and list your dance floor requests and a Don’t Play list.

Free extras come with every event DJ package from The DJ Company: one with The Vibe Package, two with The Celebration Package and three with The Showstopper Package. You pick them from our list, which includes UV bars, uplighters, flood lights and moving heads, or ask us to choose for you. Bigger additions such as a confetti cannon, a low fog machine or a dance floor are paid add-ons, quoted over and above your package.

Yes. As well as Cape Town and venues up to 600 km away, The DJ Company provides DJs for birthdays, parties and private events in Johannesburg and Pretoria. We always quote travel separately, so tell us where the party is when you enquire.

For a birthday or private party, a DJ from The DJ Company usually arrives 3 to 4 hours before the start time, depending on how big the setup is. Very large setups take longer, and some are set up the day before. It’s worth checking when your venue lets suppliers in, so we can plan the arrival around it.
